If you're getting, "Error in invoking target ntcontab.o of makefile <some_path>/network/lib/ins_net_client.mk" and you use debian, try the following:

apt-get install gcc make manpages-dev autoconf automake libtool flex bison gdb gcc-2.95-doc binutils

Similar dependancies with RPM based distros I'm sure.
